Little Life Stories

upportive online writing community for women writing personal stories

What if you're not a writer? Good. Your stories don't need to be perfect. They just need to be written down.

You've got a drawer full of old photos you keep meaning to sort. A head full of memories that surface at the strangest moments — the smell of something, a song, a drive past an old house. And somewhere, a nagging voice that keeps saying: I should write this down. Before I forget. Before it's gone.

Maybe you've told yourself you're not a writer. That your story isn't interesting enough. That you'll start when things slow down a little. But you and I both know — the stories keep nudging you anyway. And things don't really slow down, do they.

That's exactly why I created Little Life Stories. Not a course. Not homework. Just a warm, unhurried space — a bit like sitting down with a friend over a cuppa who knows exactly how to help you begin. No blank page terror. Just your stories, finding their way onto the page, one memory at a time.

Your six week journey:

Over six weeks, you'll move through your story the way a gardener moves through a season — unhurried, curious, and always pottering and reflecting. Here's what that looks like:

* Week One: Finding Your Seeds This is where it begins — and it's easier than you think. This week is simply about getting your memories out of your head and onto the page where you can see them. Through memory prompts, mind mapping and free writing, you'll start to discover just how many stories are already there, waiting. Nothing formal. Nothing complicated. Just you, a pen, and a whole life worth of moments beginning to surface.

* Week Two: Helping Your Shoots Grow Roots Now we go a little deeper. This week you'll take your memories and start to bring them to life — through colour, sound, smell, taste, and feeling. You'll learn to write in scenes rather than summaries, turning a distant memory into something vivid and real. Think less diary entry, more movie. By the end of this week, your stories will have stopped feeling like fuzzy recollections and started feeling like something worth reading.

* Week Three: Landscaping Your Garden By now you've got memories on the page and stories beginning to take shape. This week we bring some order to the beautiful chaos — but on your terms entirely. You'll explore different ways to organise your story and find a structure that feels natural to you. Chronological, thematic, or something else entirely — there's no wrong answer here. Your story gets to be as unique as you are.

* Week Four: Nurturing Your Garden By week four, the novelty has settled and real life has probably nudged its way back in. This week is for that. We talk about staying motivated when the momentum dips — because it will, and that's completely normal. You'll discover how simple writing rituals can signal to your brain that it's time to write, and how remembering your 'why' — the real reason you started this — can carry you through the harder days. This isn't a sprint. It's a slow, worthy journey. And you're still here, which means you're doing it.

* Week Five: Dealing With the Weeds At some point the words will stop coming. This week is for that moment. We reframe writer's block not as a wall but as an emptiness waiting to be refilled — and explore all the ways to fill it back up. A walk, a change of scenery, a chapter of a good book, a return to your earliest memories. You'll also learn when to zoom out from the details and look at the bigger picture of your story — because sometimes the best thing you can do for your writing is to stop writing for a moment and just think.

* Week Six: Sharing Your Harvest By the time you reach week six, something has shifted. The memories that were swirling are on the page. The stories you thought weren't interesting enough are written down in your own words, in your own voice. This week you'll explore the many ways your story could find its way into the world - or simply into the hands of the people you love most. No pressure to publish. No rush to finish. Just the quiet pride of someone who finally did the thing she'd been meaning to do for years. Now you've started and there's no stopping you! Woo hoo!

Here's what's waiting for you inside Little Life Stories:

* Six weeks of guided content Each week a new letter awaits you in your own private members space — prompts, ideas, writing tips, and warm encouragement to keep you moving forward through your story. Although, you are also welcome to binge the letters and read them all at once. Whatever suits you. They are there to come back to whenever you need.

* Three monthly Story Circles Once a month we gather — warmly, unhurriedly — for a Story Circle. We focus on where members are up to, write together, share reflections, and work through whatever has been coming up. Can't make it live? There's always a replay, so no pressure.

* Direct access to me Over the 3 months you can email me anytime. Stuck, unsure, wanting to share a win — I'm here.

* A completion letter in the mail When you reach the end of your 3 months, something arrives in your letterbox. A letter marking the fact that you did it. Something to keep. Something to say: Yay, you did it!

Preserving family stories and memories for future generations

Here's what the women inside Little Life Stories have to say:

"Little Life Stories is a writing program that gently reminds you that your stories matter, even if they're only ever written for yourself. You don't need to be a 'writer' to begin, just brave enough to write the first word, the first sentence, the first story.

Kim has created a supportive, non-judgemental space and her steady, thoughtful guidance helps to build confidence in your storytelling over time. Just as valuable is the sense of community within the group. Everyone shows up to monthly gatherings with openness and respect and that shared encouragement has been inspirational and empowering.

Little Life Stories is such a meaningful experience which helps you capture memories and moments that might otherwise be lost. Whether you want to preserve memories for family or simply understand your own story more, Little Life Stories offers a gentle and uplifting program and I suggest that, if you're considering joining, to take the leap. It will be worth it!" — Melissa Mack

"Kim is a gentle, comforting guide for all things writing. Her prompts, ideas and creativity makes the big overwhelm of writing your story into an approachable and highly enjoyable activity. As a Little Life Stories member, I'm incredibly grateful for having Kim right there to help the process along. She's a true gem. Thank you Kim for continuing to encourage and support the importance of writing our stories and memories, gifts that last forever for our loved ones." — Mary Tresize-Brown

FAQ:

Do you have a payment plan?

Yes, I have recently added After Pay to my payment options so now you have the handiness of making payments over a period of weeks rather one upfront payment. If you are really struggling, but feel keen to get started, please let me know. I'm sure we can work something out between us.

What will be inside the guided letters?

All of the juicy bits will be inside those 6 letters. There will be hints and ideas for retrieving your memories, activities to help you flesh out those memories and feel confident writing your story. There will be suggestions on helping you find your authentic writing voice, dealing with writer's block, keeping motivated and inspired, organising your story, accountability and more.

How often would it be OK for me to email you?

As much as you need over the 3 months. I want you to feel supported and held during your writing process. Being able to ask questions and share any difficulties along the way is a vital part of LLS. I don't want you to feel isolated and so the emails give us that thread of connection and help you whenever you get stuck or need a gentle nudge forward.

Do I have to share my writing?

No. Sharing is always your choice. Many women find it helpful — but it’s never required.

What if I’m not a writer?

You absolutely belong here. If you’ve ever written a letter or kept a diary, you already know how to tell a story.

What if I want to write my mum/dad/grandparent's story, can I do that instead of my own?

Of course you can. As long as you have access to memories and experiences and conversations with that person, then you will be able to write their stories.

What if I feel I need more time at the end of the 3 months?

No problem. Once you join, you will then have access to a couple of optional extras:
* You can book a 1:1 with me whenever you need ($85)
* You can join the membership and  continue accessing me via email, and the monthly Story Circle ($19/month)

These are there if you want them, further down the track, but the heart of Little Life Stories is simply getting your memories out of your head and onto paper. You'll receive links to those optional extras once you join.

The next doors open date is coming. If your heart is saying yes but you're not quite sure yet — I'd love to hear from you. Send me an email and let's have a little chat over an email and a cuppa. There's no obligation, just a conversation. I'm here.
